The Kardashian mom Kris Jenner said she would have gone on Dancing With the Stars six seasons ago, but that hope is gone. Kris revealed, “I might have done it a few years ago. But not now, since Kim proved she really can’t dance, getting voted out early. Then my son Rob did great and came in second place last season. So we’ll leave on a high note.”

Sonia Nassery Cole received the Golden Palm Award for producing and directing The Black Tulip -- a feature length drama, shot entirely on location in Afghanistan. The novice producer (who also starred in the film) stated: “Black Tulip is a film about the plight for freedom in Afghanistan, which we have to fight every day.”

Dancing with the Stars was well represented at the Odyssey Ball benefiting the John Wayne Cancer Institute. The ballroom of the Beverly Hilton was transformed into Club Disco, and Tony Dovolani, the talented pro from the hit TV series, served as Host, The opening act was a slew of fabulous flash mob dancers from the Calabasas High School Dance Team, which got the SRO audience into a dance frenzy.·

This production raises many interesting questions, one of which is the importance of source material vs strength of the creative team. The incongruous premise is a musical based on a Texas car dealership’s endurance contest (last person touching the truck gets the truck). But in the hands of a multi-faceted creative team, this production shines.
